c. 1738, 50,000 people die in a bubonic plague

BARONE - Calogero Barone and wife have a son

...Pietro, in Contessa Entellina, Sicily.

 

Calogero is the oldest known member of the Barone family, the sixth great-grandfather of Yvonne (Barone) Caldarella, and the oldest known ancestor of the current generation of Caldarella and Kelly grandchildren. 

c. 1820, U.S. President James Monroe elected to a 2nd term

DISILVA - Tomaso DiSilva and Elisabetta Fantasia have a son

...Alessandro, in Gaeta, Italy.

 

Tomaso is the oldest known DiSilva, the seventh great-grandfather of Jim Caldarella, and the eigth-grandfather of the current generation of Caldarella and Kelly grandchildren. 

1867, the U.S. buys Alaska from Russia

KELLY - John Kelly (#1) and Julia Kennedy have a son

...John (#2) in Terryglass, Ireland.

 

John (#1) is the oldest known member of the Kelly family, the third great-grandfather of Judge Robert (Bob) Kelly, and the fifth-great paternal grandfather of the current generation of Kelly grandchildren..

1874, Benjamin Disraeli becomes British PM

DISILVA - Don Tomasso DiSilva and Vincezina Tucci have six children

...Gemma, Alessandro, Augusto, Erminio, Salvatore, and Palmina (pictures not available for all).

 

"Don" was an unofficial title used in Southern Italy to show respect for someone of high social standing. It is not know why Don Tomaso was refered to in this way.

 

The Don's wife Vincenzina died in 1899 and the next year he married Filomena Brancaccio, a member of the 18th Century Napolitano nobility. They had no children.

 

Don Tomaso's son Alessandro emigrated to American in the early-1900s and started the American branch of the DiSilva family. Alessandro is the grandfather of Jim Caldarella, and the great-grandfather of the current generation of Caldarella and Kelly grandchildren.

1892, Grover Cleveland elected President

KELLY - John Kelly (#3) and Maria Shea marry and have eight children

...Ellen, Edward, Anna, Katherine, Mary, John F. Kellly, William, James.

 

John (#3, not pictured) was a Boston fireman. His son, John F. Kelly, was the father of Judge Robert (Bob) Kelly, the grandfather of the Current Generation of Kellys.

c.1880, Thomas Edison get a patent for the light bulb

CALDARELLA - Luigi Caldarella and Carmella Livaccari marry and have two children

...Felice and Rosaria (no pictures available) in Gadrano, Sicily.

 

Felice is the oldest known member of the Caldarella family. He is the paternal grandfather of Jim Caldarella, the granfather of the Current Generation.

1909, Robert Perry reaches the North Pole

DISILVA - Alessandro DiSilva and Civita Agresti emigrate to the U.S. and have six children

...Vincenzo (Vinny), Maria, Tomasso, Thomas. Joanne, and Alessandro (Sandy).

 

Sandy Caldarella is the mother of Jim Caldarella. She was "Grammy" (the great grand-mother) or the Current Generation.

1911, RMS Titanic sinks in the North Atlantic

CALDARELLA - Felice (Phillip) Caldarella and Giuseppina (Josephina) Barbera marry and have five children

...Louis, Vincent, Rosaria, Isadora, and Carmela in New York City.

 

Felice and Josephina emigrated from Godrano, Sicily to America in the early 1900s. Felice is the paternal grandfather of Jim Caldarella, whi is grandfather to the Current Generation.

1914, World War I starts

BARONE - Antonio Barone and Lucielle Maortellaro marry and have three children

..Peter, Nicolina, and Salvatore in Tampa Florida.

 

Peter is Yvonne (Barone) Caldarella's father. He was "Grandpa" to Christine and Michael (parents of the Current Generation) but dies before the Current Generation was born.

1915 , 105,000 men are killed in the 2nd Battle of Ypres (WW1) in a month

DISILVA - Two-year-old Tomasso (not pictured) of whooping cough

...In the next 10 years, Maria will dies of appendicitis, and 45-year-old Alessandro will die of kidney dysfunction, leaving 14-year old Vinny as the family's primary breadwinner.

Vinny goes on to create DiSilva Transportation, a large Northeast trucking corporation. Vinny is the uncle of Jim Caldarella.

1943, the Germans are defeated at Stalingrad (WW2), with 1.6 million people killed

BARONE - Peter Barone and Ana Perez marry and have two children

...Yvonne and Anthony in New York City.

 

Peter and Ana moved to NYC from Tampa Florida. They are the parents of Yvonne (Barone) Caldarella, "Nana" (the grandmother) of the Current Generation.

1946. the first programmable computer is invented

CALDARELLA - Vincent (Jim) Caldarella and Alessandro (Sandra/ Sandy) DiSilva marry and have three children

...James (Jim), Robert (Bob), and John (Jack) in Lexington, Massachusetts.

 

Jim is "G" (grandfather) of the Current Generation.

1965, LBJ gets the Voting Rights Act through Congress

KELLY - Robert (Bob) Kelly and Mary McCarthy marry and have five children

...Robert, Matthew, Mary Beth, John, and Peter.

 

Mathew (Matt) Kelly is the father of the Current Generation of Kellys.

1970, Four student protesters killed at Kent State

CALDARELLA - Jim Caldarella and Yvonne Barone marry and have three children

...Christine, Michael, and Cynthia in Staten Island, New York.

 

Christine marries Mathew Kelly and os the mother of the Current Generation of Kellys. Michael marries Christina Rousiamanis and is the father of the Current Generation of Caldarellas. Cynthis dies at age 2 of heart disease.

1998, Bill Clinton is impeaced over the Lewinsky scandal

KELLY - Matt Kelly and Christine Caldarella marry and have three children

...Alexandra (Alex), William, and Maxwell (Max) in Boston.

 

Who are the Kelly half of the Current Generation.

2003, the U.S. and its allies invade Iraq for the 2nd time

CALDARELLA - Michael Caldarella and Christina Rousiamanis marry and have three children

...Mitchel (Mitch), Morgan, and Marin in Staten Island.

 

Who are the Caldarella half of the Current Generation.
